U.S., Argentina Launch Andes-Atlantic Corridor

The initiative aims to strengthen and modernize infrastructure linking Argentina’s economic sectors to Atlantic ports and Western markets, the Department said.

It will facilitate public and private investment in transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure, with U.S. financing and private sector involvement.

Mineral, oil, and gas exports will increase through U.S. and U.S.-backed investments in rail, waterways, ports, pipelines, and energy infrastructure.

Cooperation will focus on transportation, energy, minerals, and digital sectors.

In transportation, priority projects include railways, waterways, and ports, with opportunities for American firms.

In energy, the U.S. will support commercial development of the Vaca Muerta region through investment, technology, and financial instruments.

In minerals, the U.S.-Argentina Critical Minerals Framework will guide mining and processing to secure supply chains.

The United States will use financing and technical assistance from agencies including DFC, EXIM, and TDA.

Argentina will strengthen legal and regulatory frameworks to attract foreign investment.

The corridor is part of the G7 Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment.
